Full day tour
starts: 08:30a.m., finishes: 05:15 p.m.
Tour features:
Regular boat trip featuring panoramic pass of Princes Islands, visit and tour of Buyuk Ada (the biggest of the islands)
Program:
After pick up from the hotel or cruise ship, we transfer to the pier and embark on a regular ferry which will bring us to the Princes Islands. During the Byzantine period, the islands were collectively a religious center with many monasteries. The name “Princes' Islands” derives from the many princes sent there in exile. During the Ottoman period, non-Moslem groups were also attracted to the islands. This archipelago of nine islands is just a few miles from Asian Istanbul in the Marmara Sea, and from the city center it will take approximately one hour and 15 minutes to get there. On our way to Buyukada, the largest of the islands, we will pass Kinali, Burgaz and Heybeli islands, which also have permanent settlements. During the ferry ride you will also enjoy the magnificent view of the Leander's tower, Üsküdar and Topkapı Palace from the sea. We disembark at Buyukada and have a horse-drawn carriage tour of the island. After the tour you will have lunch on your own at one of the many sea front fish restaurants. At 315pm, we will embark on the ferry for the return ride to the city. From the pier, we will transfer to our hotel or cruise ship.
Note:
Upon request, Princes Island cruise can be done with private boat
